Soul of Africa

Soul of Africa is a registered charity founded in 2004 in collaboration with Rotary International, that develops and invests in facilities that support women and orphaned children across South Africa.

Fuelled by the desire to make a difference to the high un-employment rate and HIV/AIDS pandemic in South Africa, Lance Clark (ClarksShoes) and Mike and Sarah Geyde of Froggie Shoes (SAFootwear manufacturer) joined forces by creating self-sustainable employment and in-turn changing the lives of orphans and vulnerable children.

This is accomplished by providing training and skills development for previously unemployed women in South Africa, focused on developing hand-stitch products. These products are sold with all proceeds supporting projects that provide care and education for orphaned children. This includes the Khulani Orphanage, the Valley of 1000 Hills Community Helpers, the Khethokuhle Child Care Development Centre, and Shepherds Keep, a centre for abandoned children.
